Performance Evaluations

The University of Houston-Downtown's annual evaluation process directly assesses employees on their individual, position-specific competencies.

Annual Staff Evaluation Process

  1. Employees rated on position-specific competencies
  2. 5-point narrative rating scale
  3. Appraisals automatically move on to the next step if any of the following steps are not completed by the deadline: 1) Employee completes self-appraisal, 2) 2nd level manager approves evaluation and 3) Employee comments and sign-off.
  4. If appraisals are not complete by the final deadline, responsible managers will not be merit-eligible.

2023-2024 Annual Performance Evaluation Cycle

The 2023-2024 Annual Performance Evaluation Cycle kicks off with the Supervisor Assessment beginning on 10/23/2023 – 12/3/2023.

Multiple training sessions will be offered the week of December 4-8, 2023. The sessions will be live through Zoom and in OMB N600. The facilitators will record the sessions so that the trainings can be replayed once the trainings are over. Individuals that are unable to attend one of the virtual trainings will be able to watch them at a later time.
