Work-Study
Federal and State funds provide part-time jobs for students who exhibit financial need, allowing them the opportunity to earn money to assist with educational expenses. Work study positions are not guaranteed, and do not pay out in a lump sum like other financial aid awards.
Eligibility
The student must demonstrate financial need as determined through the FAFSA or TASFA applications and the University’s estimated Cost of Attendance. Work study funds are available to undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled in at least six credit hours. Not all students who are eligible for work study will receive an award. Students earn an hourly wage and can work up to 20 hours per week at a job on campus or certain community service positions.
How It Works
Student applies for financial aid using the FAFSA or TASFA and selects work-study on their application.
Funds are awarded until the allocated funds have been spent. Other eligible students will not be awarded until funds become available.
If awarded, the award will be added for Fall/Spring. Student has 30 days to accept the award or it will be canceled.
Student will need to print their Financial Aid Award Statement (under View Awards) to present to their hiring manager for interviews. A copy of their class schedule will also be needed and a resumé.
How to Find Jobs
To search and apply for work study positions see the Career Site for job postings.
Apply for the job(s), upload a resume, the award statement and class schedule. The department will review the applicant data and contact the student via email or phone call about an interview.
Once selected for hire, the student will receive a job offer letter to accept or decline.
