Gator Cares
Gator Cares Fall 2022 Funding Opportunities
UHD is pleased to offer financial assistance to students through the Gator Cares program,
which allocates funds received from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to help students
who have been impacted by COVID‐19.
Students choosing to enroll in the Fall 2022 term will be eligible for funds based
on the number of hours enrolled and their Expected Family Contribution (EFC). Students
must also indicate that they were impacted by the pandemic in any capacity. If you
can identify any impact to your life from the pandemic, you may qualify.
Steps to apply:
- Submit the Gator Cares application. The application closes on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 5 pm.
- Monitor your GatorMail and myUHD accounts for updates and award notices.
Students who receive Gator Cares awards can select their preferred award method:
Gator Cares allows for students to have awarded funds pay their past and current balances for
tuition and fees. Gator Cares takes less time to process because funds are internally
transferred from Financial Aid to the student's account. Any remaining balance will
be refunded directly to the student using their BankMobile refund preference.
Gator Cares Direct allows for students to have awarded funds directly refunded to their BankMobile refund
preference for expenses outside of the University. Gator Cares Direct may take more
time to process because funds are internally transferred from Financial Aid to Student
Business Services, then refunded directly to the student using their BankMobile refund
preference.
Gator Cares funding will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until
funds are depleted. These awards do not need to be paid back.
Please note that Gator Cares awards are in addition to any other fall financial aid
you may receive.
