About Us

Mission: The Impact Learning Office will provide access to and encourage all UHD students to participate in experiential learning opportunities during their higher education careers and build an ecosystem of such experiences to support the larger mission of UHD.

 

Focus: The initial focus of this active and transformative learning initiative at UHD will be on four experiences: (1) Internships; (2) Service Learning; (3) Study Abroad; and (4) Undergraduate Research.  Work will expand as needed to encompass other HIPs.

 

Goals:

Goal 1: Coordinate existing infrastructure to support the proliferation of active and experiential learning at the institutional level in consultation and collaboration with academic units as well as co-curricular units.

Goal 2: Optimize the work of current units on campus related to experiential learning through coordinated communication, funding initiatives, and promotional activities.

Goal 3: Establish continuous improvement plans for the Office of Impact Learning, and collect and evaluate data related to the efforts.

Goal 4: Build organic avenues for faculty and student participation and collaboration to accomplish program, office, and university outcomes.

Goal 5: Create a strategic and timely communication plan that ensures that all key stakeholders can engage with the experiential learning opportunities as well as other impact learning initiatives.
