Wrestling (Men's and Women's) Club

The University of Houston-Downtown wrestling club team encourages member participation in various meets and competitions. The club team competes against other university club teams in the Southwest Conference of the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA). The club finished in fourth place at the 2016 NCWA Southwest Conference Championships. The club also finished in fourth place at the 2016 NCWA National Championships and finished with two NCWA All-Americans, and one Academic All-American. In 2017 the club came away with their first ever NCWA female All-American. The season begins in October and ends in March.

Registration: Register online for spring 2024 tryouts
*All interested students must register online prior to interest meetings and attending tryouts

Eligibility Requirements
•Must be a current UHD student
•Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) hours at UHD
•Must be in good academic standing at UHD
•Must possess good wrestling skills
•Must be dedicated to attend all team practices, events, and tournaments
•Must pay a membership fee immediately upon making the team
