Let’s face it, university students have a lot on their plates—classes, exams, assignments, not to mention their jobs and making time to just relax with friends or family. In the midst of all this, it’s tough to succeed during school, so it’s understandable that what comes after graduation can be difficult to make time for. 

Gators aren’t alone in this preparation, though, as they have an ally in the UHD Career Center, an office whose purpose is to enhance the career development of students while they’re in school (though they also assist alumni).  

"Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and tools necessary to thrive in today’s job market,” said Lisa Marie Gonzales-Hatfield, Director of the UHD Career Center. “Graduates already have the skills they need to succeed, and our job is to help them position themselves such that employers recognize those valuable skills.”

    • Free and fee-based evaluations to help you determine how your best attributes relate to potential career options. 
    • Checklists for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors offer guidance on what to do, and when, to ensure you’re ready for life after UHD. 

  • Jobs4Gators 

    • An online management system where students can upload their resume for employers looking for someone with the right skills and some Gator grit. 

  • Resume/Cover Letter Assistance 

    • Appointments for a Resume Review to ensure you’ve crossed your t’s and dotted every last one of those i’s. 

  • Grad School Application 

    • Help so you can get organized and formulate a plan for applying to law school, medical school, or anything else you’re interested in. 

  • Mock Interviews 

    • Practice so you can answer those tough (and, let’s be honest, annoying) interview questions with ease. Schedule a mock interview and you’ll get feedback on your performance and areas for improvement. 

  • Internship & Job Search 

    • Job search checklists, career fair guidance, and help with landing that dream job or internship.
