Shannon Cunningham is UHD's Director of Academic Scheduling and Integrated Services.
Shannon approaches her work at UHD holistically, knowing that any one change, however
seemingly routine, affects other functions and the people overseeing those functions.
Design and delivery of successful services means fine-tuning solutions that consider
different academic departments and student groups (one size does not fit all). Shannon
allows solutions to change over time because past success is not a predictor of future
success.
During her long tenure at UHD, Shannon successfully implemented UHD's first electronic
reserves system in the UHD Library to better serve students learning at a distance.
As UHD's first Facilities Information Manager, she structured this new State-mandated
position, led UHD through a successful audit, and became a lead academic space auditor
in the State of Texas. Within the Enrollment Management Division Shannon introduced
and rolled out UHD's first web management systems for academic catalog and curriculum
management.
Shannon leads complex, high profile, and sensitive projects in the areas of academic
scheduling, catalog management, institutional calendaring, and commencement ceremonies.
Shannon has served the UHD community since 2004, first using her MLIS degree as a
Distance Education Librarian before shifting into enrollment administration. Prior
to UHD Shannon worked in the corporate sector supplying knowledge-based research and
benchmarking data to Fortune 500 companies as well as non-profit institutions.
Shannon enjoys Live music with friends! The only thing better for Shannon is roller
skating on the streets of Houston.
