Applying as a Transfer Student

Apply for transfer admission if you have attended a regionally accredited college or university after high school graduation. If your only college coursework was taken while concurrently-enrolled in high school and prior to your graduation, you are a freshman applicant.

 

Steps to Apply for Admissions

  1. Apply online using the Apply Texas application, visit applytexas.org

  2. Pay non-refundable $50 application fee through your myUHD portal approximately 5 business days after submission of the ApplyTexas Application. Visit the Admissions Application Fee Payment webpage for more information.

  3. Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.

General Application Processing Times

Application processing time can vary depending on the time of year.
Normal processing time is 4-5 business days once all required application materials are received.
During peak periods (one month prior to the start of a semester), processing times can increase to 8-10 business days.

Transfer Admission Criteria

Earned hours of college-level credit
Minimum Cumulative Transfer GPA*
*For a course taken more than once, the highest grade will be transferred
*Developmental coursework will not count in the transfer GPA and do not transfer for credit.

Less than 15 hours
Must meet Freshman and Transfer Admission Requirements

15 or more hours
2.0 GPA

Student must be in Good Academic Standing at last institution attended
