About the Organization

Spacetaker is a 501(c)3 professional organization that provides artists and small non-profits access to economic, educational and networking opportunities.  Our efforts provide much needed access to information, services and resources for Houston Artists and the community.  

Internship Dates

Begin: 9-26-2011
End: 12-02-2011
Workdays each week: 2 to 4 days
Hours of each workday: 3 to 6 hours
Compensation: none
Preferred hours/week: Two 6-hour days, three 4-hour days or four 3 hours days.

Field Guide Coordinator

Responsibilities of the Intern

  •  Researching arts- related opportunities (business resource & artist development)
  •  Adding/editing event listings on web site
  •  Working directly with artists/nonprofit organization on web site orientation
  •  Managing the dissemination of Spacetaker events/ resources on various social media outlets
  •  Assisting with weekly e-newsletter

Professional Development Skills

  • Management / Administrative skills: use of online research tools, non-profit regulations and management
  • Professional / Communication skills: Successful social media management for business, Collaborative planning with non-profit organizations,
    basic marketing best practices
  • Software Available (if applicable): Creative/ Design Skills: Microsoft Office Adobe Creative Suite, Constant Contact, Drupal
  • Other Skills or Competencies: Basic web site management, event management
