Electromechanical Technician Certificate Program
The Electromechanical Technician Certificate program provides a complete introduction to electronics and electromechanical systems. This program is often of interest to people who want to study electronics with an emphasis on mechanical systems, for example someone coming from a millwright background. The program covers mechanical topics outside of a typical electronics program, like industrial control devices, DC and AC motors and control circuits, transformers, analog and digital transducers, industrial process control and PLCs.
The program is divided into the following 24 modules and contains text, animations, mini audio lectures, illustrations, review questions, over 450 pre-built lab projects and practice exams.
- Introduction to Electronics
- Current, Voltage & Resistance
- OHM’S Law, Power & Energy
- Series Circuits
- Parallel Circuits
- Series Parallel Circuits
- DC Measuring Instruments
- Industrial Control Devices
- Magnetism
- DC Motors and Control Circuits
- Alternating Voltage & Current
- AC Measuring Instruments
- Capacitance and Capacitors
- Inductance and Inductors
- Transformers
- AC Motors and Drives
- Analog and Digital Transducers
- Industrial Process Control
- Semiconductor Fundamentals
- Transistors and Thyristors
- Amplifier Circuits
- Integrated Circuits
- Digital Electronics
- Programmable Logic Controllers
One of the main learning features of the EM program is the complete integration of laboratory experiments and projects within the presentation of the electronics theory. This is accomplished through the introduction of circuit simulation software that simulates the behavior of electronic circuits. Students who enroll in the program receive a licensed copy of CircuitLogix Pro, a leading commercially available simulator that includes both 2D- and 3D-circuit simulation tools.
The 3DLAB simulator is introduced early in the content to help students visualize basic electronic circuits, to begin to interact directly with them just like in a real lab and to begin to apply the new skills and knowledge that you have acquired. Animations of the lab simulations supplement the working labs to create a multimedia environment that is very engaging and allows you to virtually step right into the laboratory and the circuit you are working on.
The full version of CircuitLogix includes over 4,000 device models, as well as 8 virtual instruments to greatly enhance the user's comprehension of electronics. Using CircuitLogix, students have the freedom to try all the what-if scenarios - changing parts or component values, then re-running the simulation to see how changes affect the circuit's operation and performance.
Register now and get started in the program for $380
Our pay-as-you-learn option allows you to enroll in the program for $345, which pays
for the Interactive Learning Package including lab simulation software and the program
material. Also included in this fee are the tuition, final exam, and ancillary fees
for Module 1 as well as the technical and tutorial support for the module material.
After you complete the first module, you simply pay for additional modules as you
work through them. The remaining 23 modules can be purchased individually at $60 per
module or in groups. You can take up to 2 years to complete the program.
Register in the complete program for $1,760
Register into a complete program and you will have full access to all modules and learning resources in the program. Full registration includes all tuition fees and learning material fees for the program and represents the entire program cost. It also includes the laboratory simulation software program and access to all of the learning resources for the 24 modules as well web-based supplemental resources, free tutorial and technical support and online testing.
